Auto Racing Day Cruises Into NAIAS 2007 With Celebrity Drivers and Interactive Exhibits
WHO: 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).
This year, the NAIAS again unveils concept and production vehicles
to automotive enthusiasts around the globe. The 2007 show, which
is in its 19th year as an international event, highlights the
vehicles' designs and technology.
WHAT: Auto Racing Day.
For one action-packed day, the NAIAS 2007 will celebrate the
excitement and history of auto racing during its Auto Racing Day,
presented by Michigan International Speedway. A Racing Day theme
will overtake Cobo's concourse, and attendees with the need for
speed can ride in NASCAR racing simulators in Cobo Arena. In
addition, NASCAR vehicles will be on display throughout Michigan
Hall and Cobo's concourse so racing enthusiasts can get up close
and personal with the cars they have seen speed by on TV.
Enthusiasts also can meet with several celebrity drivers in
attendance, including Helio Castroneves, Indy Car racer; Sam
Hornish, Jr., Indy Car racer; Ron Fellows, American Le Mans Series
racer, Chris Dyson, American Le Mans Series racer; and Hillary
Will, NHRA Top-Fuel dragster racer.
The event will feature exhibits showcasing different aspects of
racing, such as Michigan International Speedway (MIS), the Detroit
Belle Isle Grand Prix, the American Le Mans Series, Micro Reality
race cars and MSU Formula One Racing. From their display area in
Michigan Hall, MIS will be giving away 2007 Michigan International
Speedway wall calendars to visitors while supplies last, during
Auto Racing Day only. The event continues to add exciting
attractions and guest appearances, so for up-to-date information
